Bleh, the time of the year that is really odd. It's really depressing and also happy for someone like me. It's depressing because it's the end of all the good times from the summer. Plus it always seems so short. Also it means that I have to leave my family.

But it's also a happy time because it means that I get to spend time with my friends. It also means it's time to do things right, and fix things that seemed not quite right last year. It's like getting your second chance. It also means that this part of one's life isn't over yet. I will really dread the time when school is over forever. Leaving life-long friends that you may never see again. Fixtures that were implicated into your life and left there for so long are removed. And you realize how much you loved them and how you took them for granted. Ahhh... yes, people come into your life and you hardly realize their significance.

At my school things are pretty unique. If someone were to come in for one day and sit in classes, they would probably want to come back again the next day. The students in my classes are so unique. I think they should make a reality show on us sometime, coz' that's how it feels like a lot of the time. For instance, there's MaryGrace, (MG for short) she's hilarious. I've known her since 4th grade. I wish that I could be her for just one day. She's an amazing person, totally herself. She doesn't "give a crap," what anyone else thinks. She's so brave too. Always cracking jokes and being sarcastic. She doesn't kneel to authority either. She'll speak her mind and make a joke out of it all. Sort of like many other students.

Travis, Seth, and some other people I know as well. Then there's Madeline(Maddie) she's like MG some times as well but in her own way. I don't think I've ever seen Madeline with out a huge smile so wide her face turns red. Even with braces she doesn't care. She's just a big ball of sunshine all the time. I miss having her in most of my classes like last year. There are countless others that I met just last year. They're the reason I love coming to school every day and every year. I'll miss them when we all go our opposite ways. But that won't be until the beginning/end of college. So I still have at least 5 years with most of them, thank god.

There is an amazing amount of favorite books that I have, some I know are out there, and are sure to be my favorite, but I just haven't read them yet. One for instance is, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. But by Sunday, I'll know that it's a favorite. I can't possibly choose a book to talk about so I'll just give you a short list:

I have had many friends over the years but a few close ones and distant ones just lately. So I'll cover the ways we met and how long we've been friends. Most of them have drifted away since the start of middle school but I still think of them as friends.

It all started at the beginning of 3rd grade, when I moved to a brand new school. Until the end of 5th grade I kept almost all of these friends. There were, Seth, Leah (original group), Shamia, Naeemah, Maddie(distant friend of mine, friends of all of my other friends), Brock, YaYa, Devondray and Andres. That was mostly of just 3rd grade. By 4th grade, Juan, Kevin, Mary-Grace and all other prior friends. 5th grade (a wonderful year), there was, a new group (maintained when all of my other friends left AIG class), consisted of, Me(Pom-Pom), Eire(Shodie), Andres(I forgot), Devondray(Dray) and sometimes Donnie(can't tell ya that). We had a lot of fun with the nicknames, starting mostly in 5th grade.

But now there is middle school. 6th grade. This year I really didn't bother making to many friends just a few. Coz' almost all of my old friends went to other schools. ;( Beg your pardon if I forget a few. Ikzuri, Colleen, Charlie, Matt, Caitlin, Laura, Morgan&Lauren (the twins), Taylor, Kayliegh, Sandra, Morgan W., Bennett, Rachel, and Stephen. The rest of my "friends" were made at the end of the year when my friend Eire got me into her humongous group of friends'. So now I hope I am going to be somewhat popular because the people in this list right before weren't to much my actual friends. Just people I could talk to from one period to another. Coz' the friends that did come to my school, got really popular. I was to distracted.

Hey Ya'll!!!!! This time I would like to tell you bout my friends. Their nicknames are Carli (Dagger) , Soph (Angelheart) , Ali (Elhis) , Lysa (Athena). Yo!!! Li.....sorry if I blurted out the names , but I can't hep it =).......... Well all of us are the same age except Soph: a year younger. All of us is in 6th grade. Too bad we're on diffenrent sections , I'm at 6-4 ; Carli in 6-1 ; Lysa in 6-5 and Ali and Soph are in 6-8. Only Carli is the one who isn't in our floor....but she goes up the stairs before classes and recess and of course dismissal. We've been classmates and friends since 5th grade. Only me and Carli will get to share a class which is P.E. , we're in batch 1 whereas the others are in batch 2. Well gotta go!!!!

An Education

Hmmm... my school. I'm going to be going to Grade 7 in August. I've been going to Middle school for one whole year and I'm still trying to figure it out! 6th grade was a social bust for me. I didn't make that many new friends until the end of the year. So I stuck it out with just a few new friends since all of my old ones went to other schools. But as for my studies, I did pretty good. Especially in the first half. The second half, math was really starting to trip me up which is bad because of Math and Writing/Reading, math is the one I pride myself in and enjoy most. It really wasn't bad like most people consider. I just had a high B for a while before report cards came out. But by the time they did I brought it back up to a 97=A. So I kept my straight A record. Phew! Core classes include, Literacy(Reading), Math(Advanced for me), Science, Social Studies(Geography, and World History), and Language Arts(Grammar, Writing etc.). Then there are electives. There are a whole bunch of choices but if you're one of the people who choose Band, there aren't any at all. Band is something that you do for a whole year. Then there is one more block for the "required-s." Those include, Phys. Ed, and Careers: Biotechnology, Technology/Construction, Computer/Keyboarding, Home Economics. The rest is a big confusion for a while until you get it all in routine.

You get to do many fun things throughout the year to, along with some rewards for good work etc. I got a few awards at the end of the year. None of the important ones just for things like Band and Science etc. That's just a little bit for now, just the basics.

Ok...here is how it is in my school from my point of view. Well , I'm in grade 6 now and we have barkadas or groups ; either all girls or boys or mixed.Then , there's as I sometimes call it : Girl War! (because they just fight for no reason sometimes). We also have our studies....Math , Social Studies , Science , Language + Spelling , Reading , Filipino , Home Ec. , Bible , Art and many more. So far I have bout 18 friends. Oh yeah and did I mention that all our tests our MEGA-HARD!!!!!!!!

Hi! My name is Emerald Jade--Emjade for short. I was born on March 30th in California. I moved to North Carolina when I was three and have been living here ever since. My blog is called Putting it Simply. I just post stuff about my life, and thoughts about things. I also do some blogs with my mom. We have a food blog and a blog called Jade-n-Mom. But mom's the one that does most of the posting since I got my new blogs.

This is a picture of me, my mom and 2 sisters. Unfortunately it's another picture of me where I look pretty horrible. It's very hard for me to find recent pictures of myself where I look appealing. There's always something wrong with it if not all of it. People begin to learn such things about me, like that I am not the most-photogenic but I like taking pictures, etc. etc.

My blog is full of Sunflowers and the colors GREEN & ORANGE becoz' I loooove those things. I am also obbsessed with the animals: Frogs, Pandas, etc. I love reading and writing too, my favorite books include, the Harry Potter Series, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and anything by Amy Tan. I am really excited about the new Harry Potter book, and movie. Also the movie for the Traveling Pants which we saw just the other day.

Another big obsession is MUSIC. I love buying MP3's online, especially when they have good deals. I like all kinds of music, by any artist. I especially like watching TV for any new music that comes out.

Hey!!!! My nickname is Trisha or Emerald as my friends Ali , Lisa , Clert , Nielle and Soph , puts it (this is my pic ; the one with glasses.) I'm 11 years old but soon-to-be 12 in about 3 months (sorry bout the pic it's from 5th grade). I'm kinda late on posting here and in my blog (http//:www.pritiwisi.blogspot.com) because I went back to school last Wednesday , June 8 Philippine Time. My favorites are : the colors "emerald" , "lavander" and "blue" ; the chocolates "Ghiradelli" and "mNm" ; the subjects "Social Studies" and "Reading". Oh yeah and Fiction Books esp. Harry Potter.
